Agrovoltaics is an entirely new type of dual land use.

The main idea behind this power plant concept is the vertical installation of solar panels that are able to harness light from both sides, called bifacial panels.

The panels are oriented east and west, resulting in a peak in power generation in the morning and evening.

Next2Sun plants deliver power when other PV plants are producing at low levels.

AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK FARMING

The area of the Next2Sun solar park can be used almost entirely for agriculture.

Land as production invoice remains preserved. Only 1% of the area is developed.

Neither the water consumption nor the solar radiation will change significantly.

A space of at least 10m between rows allows the use of conventional agricultural machinery.

Other uses:

PRODUCTION OF OPERATIONAL ELECTRICITY

The production profile of these plants is particularly suited to the operation of dairy farms - much of the operational electricity can be met by self-generation.

SOLAR FENCES

Bifacial solar modules can be used as barriers:

- pasture fences

- screens

A fence that pays for itself!
